Mountain God Dancer is a work inspired by a photograph taken by my friend and photographer John Soden. He was invited to chronicle a ceremonial dance of a family of the Mescalero tribe. His photograph is a black and white photo, and one of four in the series. I improvised the color of the fire in my interpretation of the beautiful photograph.
